OK, so this is a really unique little gig of which I am just a small (but colorful) part. Once thought to be extinct, the last of the world's Black Footed Ferrets were discovered outside of this very unique little town in NW Wyoming in 1981. Since then, these ferrets have begotten thousands more in an intensive and difficult captive breeding program. Though reintroduced in 8 of their 12 old stomping (or burrowing) ground states in the US, the progeny of the original ferrets have not made it back to the discovery sight on the Hogg Ranch - UNTIL TODAY!!! For the occasion, in conjunction with the Meeteetse Museums, I have written a song for these ferocious little beasts, to be debuted at the grand induction celebration. NO, we don't get to witness the actual release, but hey, we still get to be part of history!! Speakers, leading biologists, dignitaries, film crews and who knows who else will be there. Will YOU???
free and open to the public!
